Davco Media now offer an affordable web design service for business start-ups or those with a very tight budget.

We only work with WordPress – nothing else. Consequently, you know you’re going to get an SEO-friendly website to impress your customers, your competitors and even your family!

We don’t re-invent the wheel and make no secret of using existing WordPress templates, modifying them with your branding and content. That’s why they are so affordable yet still look totally professional.

It doesn’t stop there.

We also host the site free for a year (less hassle for you), add the right plugins and widgets to give your site some ‘zing’, concentrating primarily on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to get it as high a ranking on Google as possible.

Couldn’t I do all this myself?

Yes, you could. However, we work with WordPress all day, every day, and unless you are familiar with WordPress, we are much more likely to get your site up and running quicker than you are.

You would need to buy 3rd-party hosting and a domain name, install the software, install plugins and widgets, find and modify the right theme, get to grips with the back-end of the site (this area in particular is where many people really struggle), submit your site to search engines for indexing. The list goes on.

What are the costs and what do I get?

It’s difficult to give you a precise cost as different customers have different requirements. However, prices start from as little as £295. Yes, that’s right, just £295. For that you would get five static pages, though once we have handed the site over to you, you can then add and/or amend your own content. All websites, including the most basic site, get everything included in the check list further down the page.

If you require more content, a site like ours for example, which includes a blog, costs £375.

More complex sites have additional resources added. We would discuss your requirements before starting any work for you.

How do I choose the right template?

In most cases you can leave that to us as we will contact you for more details about you or your business. For example; What business sector are you in? What do you want your website to achieve? How do you currently market your business? What is your peferred colour scheme?

Once we have established your requirements we would make a recommendation and create a mock-up of the home page for your approval.

Do you have an extensive portfolio of existing websites I can take a look at?

The short answer to this question is ‘no’ for a very valid reason. Web design is a new service from Davco Media, as WordPress training is our core activity.

However, we have helped hundreds of businesses to create their own WordPress websites and been involved in modifying the ‘look and feel’, though we can’t take all the glory.

How long would it take to complete a website for me?

A straight-forward brochure-style site, typically costing £295, can be up and running in only 48 hours after we have confirmed all of your requirements.

What support do you give?

We provide ongoing support for technical issues and minor user issues by email.

If I decide to look after the site myself and really struggle to get to grips with it can you help?

Certainly, we offer a completely optional full day’s training once the site is live. The cost is £195 for one person or £295 for two people. Training can take place at your work premises or home, providing it is within a 50 miles radius of our base in Milton Keynes (which covers London). We are more than happy to train further afield, but do charge travelling expenses in those instances.

The small print

Before we can really get cracking with your site we need you to supply us with everything you have in electronic format – such as your logo, editorial (the words!) and any images you may want us to use.

Our websites start from £295 for a brochure-style site with up to 5 pages. If your requirements are more complex we will provide you with a no obligation quote.

Whilst we will do basic Search Engine Optimization for your site Davco Media can’t guarantee rankings in Google – no SEO company can, no matter what they may say. You’ll have an SEO-friendly website, and by regularly adding good content to your site, and by examining your competitiors and carrying out keyword research, you may rank highly for desired keyterms in Google. Alternatively, you can commission us to do this work for you, as the package is our standard package does not include extensive SEO work.

Formal WordPress training is not included as standard. However, we specialise in this area and can provide training if required. You will find more information above.
